STM Newsletter for October 11, 2017

View this email in your browser
Dear Friends,

As we watch the wildfire tragedy in the area quickly unfold so close to home, we feel compelled to reach out to those who are in need of our help. In an effort to answer that calling we are conducting a week long toiletry drive. Please take a look at the items on the list. The generous and compassionate spirit of our school will truly help those who are in a terrible and devastating circumstance. Thank you, as always, for your kind and giving hearts.
We highly encourage our STM families to attend this reverent event to gather and come together in prayer. Homework will not be given that night so students and families can join others at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 6pm on Tuesday, October 17th.
Please join us on Friday, October 13, 2017 as the Archbishop Cordelione will be the Celebrant for our weekly Friday Mass at 8:30 am. We also look forward to your attendance at the Family Mass this Sunday, October 15 with Archbishop Cordelione presiding and our 3rd grade class taking the lead.
Check out the new additions to Shop with Scrip!

Yes that's right! Starbucks and Uber are now available for purchase! Just in time for the holidays, Starbucks cards make great thank you's and Uber gift cards will be very appreciated by those who frequently utilize the ride service.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
Thank you for all who supported our Book Fair. We sold $3498.64, of which we will receive $1749.32 in scholastic dollars which can be used to buy more books for our library. We also purchased $1,300 of new books for the library, with existing Scholastic dollars, and we raised $60 dollars in All for Books through the raffle and lollipop donations during the fair. A BIG thank you to Maria Kand Rose for their tireless work and enthusiasm that made
There are still a few pledges out there that need to be collected, and those people are being notified today. Once everything is collected, we will report our total funds raised. Families who chose not to participate or did not meet the $100 per child donation will be charged a buyout fee of $150 per child on Tuesday, October 17.
AFTER SCHOOL BALLET PROGRAM - Kinder-5th grade
There are still some spaces available for this fun program. Please click here to view Shan-Yee Poon's portfolio. Classes for kindergarten through 5th grade students will be held on Mondays, in Carroll Hall, beginning on October 16. Please check out this registration flyer if you wish for your child to participate. Information regarding the Ballet Uniform Dress Code can be found here.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL and BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
On Monday, October 23 we will be having an ice-cream social to raise funds for the local organization, Breast Cancer Emergency Fund. Three Twins ice cream has generously donated three delicious organic ice cream flavors of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate to help us with this cause. Flyers will be coming to pre-order your favorite flavor and number of scoops!
CHOICE LUNCH CHANGES
Choice Lunch will not be offering pizza as an option for lunch on Mondays but will continue to offer pizza on Fridays.  If you have already ordered pizza on a Monday, Choice Lunch has switched their order to a peanut butter sammy. You may log in and change your order. Want to order Jamba Juice too? Check out this flyer for more information on how to order.
