Dear Parents:

The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2017 is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service." This annual celebration begins on the last Sunday in January and runs all week through the following Saturday. The theme includes several concepts that are at the heart of a Catholic education.

  • Schools are communities—small families in their own right, but also members of the larger community of home, church, city and nation.
  • Faith, knowledge and service are three measures by which any Catholic school can and should be judged.
  • The logo features a swirl of colors interacting around a cross, which is at the center of all Catholic education. The vibrancy of the colors and the movement and shadows in the logo portray the inner-connectivity and community life that are present in our Catholic schools.
Please mark your calendars as we begin National Catholic Schools Week with our Family Mass, Center for the Performing Arts Grand Opening, Open House, Book Fair, and other exciting events on Sunday, January 29. The schedule for the week is available here. Today you will find an invitation for grandparents and other special guests to participate in Grandparents Day on Thursday, February 2. STM Newsletter for January 18, 2017

Dear Parents:

Our Catholic faith is central to all that we do at St. Thomas More School. Gospel ideals permeate the substance and structure of lessons prepared by our teachers. Faith is shared through daily prayer and the regular celebration of Mass as a school community and with our families on Sundays. Catholic schools offer an excellent, nurturing, values-centered education in a structured environment. This helps children of all backgrounds realize their fullest potential as human beings.

The Catholic school experience is an unparalleled opportunity to develop a child's mind, heart and soul.

On the night of our Christmas Program I announced that we would have the grand opening of our Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, January 28th. Unfortunately, that plan had to be changed for several reasons. The church has scheduled an event in Carroll Hall that evening and parking would have been a major issue. Additionally, since our Catholic Schools Week Mass was scheduled for Sunday January 29th we decided it was better to combine both events rather than asking you to attend two events back to back. Therefore, we will combine the grand opening with our Mass and Open House on Sunday, January 29th. Please click HERE for further information.
