| | | Thank you sixth graders for preparing a lovely Thanksgiving prayer service today! | | As Thanksgiving approaches we have much for which we are thankful. It is a time of year when we think of others less fortunate. Today, we are kicking off a schoolwide Food Drive by participating in the SF Food Drive's "400 Pound Pledge." To help achieve this goal and to truly help those in need, we are requesting specific items of food. Their clients need healthy food that is high in protein. Please note your student's grade and the suggested item(s) to donate and be sure to check expiration dates. Stay tuned and we will let you know how many pounds of food STM Families have generously donated! | | | TK, K and Grade 8 - canned meats, tuna and sardines Grade 1- whole grains, rice and pasta Grade 2 - canned fruits and vegetables Grades 3-4 - cereal, oatmeal and cream of wheat Grade 5 - various types of canned beans Grade 6 - soups and chili Grade 7 - peanut, almond or soy butter | | | PARENT MEETING ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21 A parent meeting with the owners of Parkmerced is scheduled for tomorrow evening, November 21, at 6:30pm at St. Thomas More School Gym. Her last day will be Friday, November 22. We are grateful for her commitment and dedication to our third grade students and families. Together, the third graders discovered the various habitats and inhabitants of the rainforest, learned about polygons and quadrilaterals in math, and explored paragraph writing in English. Not to worry, Mrs. Cox will be available to substitute for STM. We welcome back Mrs. Byrne who will return on Monday, December 2 to continue the journey with our third graders. Katie Cottura, STM Alumni, has been promoted to gym director. Email Katie at kcottura@stmsf.org for all questions regarding gym rentals and scheduling. In other staffing changes, Melody Dicks is no longer our Administrative Assistant. Please continue to email me at marifitz@stmsf.org or office@stmsf.org for all general questions. Direct any FACTS inquiries to Mrs. Wong at bwong@stmsf.org and admissions questions to Mrs. Quinlan at bquinlan@stmsf.org. As we come to the day when we recognize all for which we should be thankful, we are especially mindful of you. You continue to support so many of our efforts by your presence and participation. These efforts have continued for years. Thank you, thank you, thank you and enjoy a great holiday with family and friends! Sincerely, Marie Fitzpatrick Principal | | | | | | |
