Hello STM Broncos!

Halloween is right around the corner and so is Spirit Week 2022!  Anticipation and excitement fill the air!

Thank you to everyone for supporting our Student Council Led Fundraiser last Friday which raised funds that will go directly to support breast cancer research.

Thank you all for supporting the Pizza Lunch Fundraiser – which supports our 5th, 6th and 7th grade outdoor education program.  If you missed it, there's another one coming up soon!

More Halloween Reminders - Families are welcome to join on Monday, 10/31/22 – Gates Open at 9:00 a.m.! Performance starts at 9:15 followed by photos, Trunk-or-Treating, and parade! 

Almost showtime folks! The students are doing a fantastic job!  Thank you to all the parents for helping to organize our Halloween Festival Trunk-or-Treat.  The entire school is beaming with excitement!

STM has been invited to the Bayshore Block Party taking place on Saturday, 10/29/22! Check out the flier below!

Outdoor Education is back! Our 5th, 6th and 7th grades will be participating this year!  Our entire school community is rallying to help make this happen.  There are a variety of fundraising opportunities to help.  Get an early start on holiday shopping by supporting the Outdoor Education Fundraiser 40% of all the sales goes back to the school.

2022 HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL & PARADE 

Important Halloween Information & Updates

Please make sure to be aware of the following:

Types of Costumes: Thank you in advance for ensuring that your child's costume is culturally sensitive. Thank you as well for not sending them to school with any props (guns, knives, etc.) and for keeping costumes age-level appropriate for all our learners (we have four-year old students on campus). We want to encourage a safe and fun environment.  Consult with your classroom teacher to make sure your child's costume is appropriate.

Halloween Costume Reminders:
  • Age appropriate 
  • Bathroom accessible
  • Make up must be applied at home 
  • Shoes must be comfortable for walking/dancing 
  •  No weapons of any kind

Sports Announcements from Mr. K

 

Big weekend of volleyball. On Friday night, we are hosting three top games.  Our first game at 5:30 will be 4th grade vs.St. Anne's. 

At 6:30, our undefeated 5th grade team will take on West Portal Lutheran. 

The 7:30 nightcap will see our combo team of 6th and 7th graders matching up against Fr. Sauer Academy.  

The snack bar, which now has pizza, nachos and other homemade goodies, will be open and remember it is benefitting 5th & 6th Grade Outdoor Ed. 

The two third grade teams play at 9 and 10 on Saturday morning. 

 8th grade is playing St. Anne's on Friday night at 8:30 at St. Emydius

WHAT IS BREAKTHROUGH?

Breakthrough is an amazing opportunity for students and families. Our goal is to support motivated students on the path to college by helping them develop the skills they need to be successful in an academically rigorous setting. Accepted students participate in our year-round, tuition-free, out of school-time programming until the end of middle school with ongoing workshops and support throughout high school. We provide middle school, high school, and college admissions support, and create an inclusive and collaborative community where students can thrive.

 

BREAKTHROUGH PROGRAM 

This is an eight year commitment (grades 5-12) for students who know they want to go to college and are willing to take advantage of the great opportunities and resources Breakthrough has to offer, which include:

  • academically intensive, skills-based summer programming the summers before 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades,
  • comprehensive school-year programming with after-school tutoring and enrichment twice a week during the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school years, 
  • middle and high school admissions support to enter high performing, best fit schools,
  • test prep, college exposure through college talks and visits, admissions counseling and personal enrichment workshops during the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades

Participating students must demonstrate academic motivation as well as meet our need criteria. For more information and a link to our application (coming soon), check out our website

Hello STM Broncos!

What an amazing week it has been for our community! So many wonderful things to be thankful for!

Congrats to first and second grade students and families for celebrating our first Sunday family mass of the year! The church was filled and the energy was awesome! Special thanks to Ms. Murray (1st grade superstar teacher) and Ms. McCann (2nd grade superstar teacher) for all their dedication to making a moment we will all cherish. Well done!

Congrats to the 3rd grade families for coordinating their Sunday community picnic! Fantastic job!

Thank you to STM Director of Dance, Mrs. Angeles for getting all the Halloween Performances going! The students are doing a wonderful job!  Thank you to all the parents for helping to organize our Halloween Festival Trunk-or-Treat.  The entire school is beaming with excitement!

Thank you to SFFD and Firefighter Patrick for visiting our school and sharing fire safety tips! Knowledge is power! Here is a link to some photos

Outdoor Education Pizza Lunch Fundraiser 

Pizza lunch will be delivered to those who pre-ordered it.  The lunch consists of a slice (or two) of cheese or pepperoni pizza and an 8 oz bottle of water.  It will be distributed right before dismissal to either eat at home or extended care. Please note that you are ordering for BOTH DATES.

The charges will be posted to the FACTS account (no cash or checks) and there will be no refunds.  PLEASE COMPLETE A FORM FOR EACH CHILD.
