Dear Parents,

This Friday, please join us as our 7th graders receive Confirmation and renew their vows their sponsors made for them when they were baptized. The bishop anoints the Confirmandi with chrism accompanied by the words "Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit". This reaffirms the graces of the Holy Spirit conferred on the child at baptism. We offer our congratulations to the all candidates who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation Friday evening at 5:30pm. Please remember that all Confirmation candidates will be dismissed at 12:30pm on Friday, April 27.

Now that Lent is over, we are asking that the individual collection boxes to benefit the Missionary Childhood Association be returned to school. Please send in those donations by Monday, April 30th.

PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY
It was great to have Principal Liz Pinkham take the reigns today. She spent her day observing classes, preparing the Wednesday envelope, supervising yard duty and even enjoyed a special lunch. A BIG thank you to Principal Pinkham for declaring free dress for all students and staff on Monday, April 30!

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
MORE THAN BRICKS

Thank you to those who have already responded to the campaign. As we said last week, there is no specific, required contribution however, the level of response from all school families to the Campaign will ensure the safety of our children as we move forward with the seismic retrofit and other improvement projects. We ask that all responses are received by this Friday, April 27, 2018.
SPRING SHOW - THURSDAY, APRIL 26
Tomorrow we will present our Spring Show under the direction of Michelle McDaniel, our music teacher. This year, all students in kindergarten through 8th grade will perform show tunes from movies and musicals on the stage of The Shah Performing Arts Center. The Preschool students will perform a special dance to "Thriller"! Students should all wear dressy clothes to school tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you at this fun production which kicks off at 11:00am. Parking will be available in the schoolyard beginning at 10:30am and the gym doors will also open at this time.

8TH GRADE MOVIE SCREENING
Please join 8th grade for the world premiere of the short films they have been working on over the past few weeks. We will screen the movies in the gym immediately following the Spring Show. The 8th graders would love you to come and enjoy the results of their hard work and creativity.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress Reports are going home today. All students, fourth grade and up, are receiving such a report. These progress reports show a snapshot of the student's current academic standing with optional comments from their teachers. The grading scale is available here. As a system default, art, PE, music and tech will show P/100% for students who fully participate. Students in the lower grades with behavior and/or academic concerns have already been contacted by their child's teacher.

A big thank you to our Parents' Club and all their helpers who prepared a wonderful lunch for teachers and staff this past Monday. It was so nice to sit down to a delicious meal. Thank you to the many students and parents who have dropped in treats all week. It is definitely nice to be appreciated.

As we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day today I would like to give a big shout out to our wonderful office staff who ensure that everything at STM runs so smoothly. Thank you to Melody Dicks, Judy Silva and Betty Quinlan for all that you do!

Finally, we would like to announce that we have a few changes in staff for the new school year. Julianne Beach, our current 3rd grade teacher, is leaving us to take a teaching position on the east coast. Laura McCann who has been assisting in the office will take over the reins in 3rd grade next year. Also relocating and leaving us this year to pursue new challenges in her career is Maestra Beatriz Cortes, our current Spanish teacher. We wish both teachers well as they take advantage of new opportunities.

At this time also, we would also like to congratulate our Kindergarten Teacher, Megan Kennedy and her husband Tim, who are expecting their fourth child in July!

Please keep the Morato family in your prayers. Charles, dad of Mason (1st) and Emery (Preschool) is being deployed soon to the Middle East for the next 6 months. We thank him and all who serve our country.

Sincerely,

Marie Fitzpatrick
Principal

Dear Parents,

Our second graders will receive their First Holy Communion this Saturday, April 21 at 10:00am in the church. Eucharist is a celebration of what Jesus did at the Last Supper. The word Eucharist means "to give thanks". When we celebrate this sacrament, we thank God for His many gifts and blessings. All are welcome to join us.

Our seventh graders will receive their Confirmation on April 27 at 5:00pm in the church. Please keep both classes in your prayers as they prepare for their special days.
DIAPER AND WIPES DRIVE
We need your help! Low-income and homeless families are in need of diapers (size 4, 5 or 6) and unopened containers of baby wipes. The donations will be delivered to The Children's Fund of San Mateo County. Please drop off your diaper and wipes donations to the school office by Friday, April 20.
