Dear Parents,

Last Thursday was the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. According to Scripture, Christ was crucified then resurrected on the third day. Following his resurrection, Christ remained with his disciples and continued his ministry for forty days. Following these forty days, he ascended into heaven. The feast of the Ascension's meaning provides a sense of hope that the glorious and triumphant return of Christ is near. It is a reminder of the Kingdom of God within our hearts, and of the ever-present Spirit of God, watching over and protecting us as we spread the light of Jesus' truth throughout the world.

Some of our students have served their church this year in the roles of choir members, altar servers and Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Those students who served faithfully will be rewarded for their dedication and will attend the annual 'Thank you' picnic at Buri Buri Park on Thursday, May 26th. These students will be receiving their permission slips tomorrow.

The Bingo Night was a fantastic success with a great crowd! Thank you to fourth grade parents, Cathy Evans and Christine Jordan for all their hard work in making this a fun event.

No-Fuss Fundraising: Don't forget to keep sending in all your Boxtops for Education and Campbell Soup labels. The Campbell Soup label program is coming to an end, so get them in now! These can be turned in for cash which we use to buy extra supplies for the classrooms.

Paper Donations: One way we save money is by using recycled paper, paper printed only on one side. So many of you are kind enough to collect it at your place of business and bring it to us on a regular basis. Your generous donation of new and recycled paper is very much appreciated. Please keep these donations coming!

And finally, we invite everyone to join us next Thursday, May 19th at 1:30pm in Carroll Hall for a Musical Tribute. Ms. McKenna, our music teacher, had been preparing all classes to perform a variety of songs in this showcase. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,

Marie Fitzpatrick
