Students were excited to have their first PE and Spanish classes today and they are looking forward to their music class tomorrow with Miss McDaniel. We are happy to welcome the school counselor for this year from the USF School Based Family Counseling Program, Jeff Shore. He will be on campus three full days a week beginning September 5th. Look for a letter from him in the coming weeks regarding referrals for this program. It was great to see you all at our back-to-school night last night. Congratulations to the family of Daniela Ruiz (3rd grade), who won the raffle for $500 towards their tuition! ALTAR SERVING TRAINING Congrats to all the 4th-8th graders who were trained by Fr. Marvin this past Friday.  If your child missed that training, but would like to join our group of altar servers, please contact Mr. Kavanagh (JKav@stmsf.org). Wow, is it Busy! An updated school calendar went out in last week's Wednesday envelope (16th). Please take a few minutes to carefully look at the September calendar in this week's envelope. There are a lot of things to remember and keep track of each week. Please consider mirroring calendar items into your electronic devices to help stay organized and prepared. Let Siri do the work! BINGO NIGHT Family Bingo Night is set for Saturday, September 16. Reservation forms are included in your envelope today. We hope to see you there. SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM As we mentioned last week, again this year we are partnering with Choicelunch to provide lunches on all full days that we are in session. Lunch will consist of an entree, side, snack and drink. Please note that the snack will be delivered at morning recess. This program will is in full swing and must be pre-ordered online by 9am the previous day (or by 6am day of for an additional fee). How to Register: Visit www.choicelunch.com to create a new account and register your child(ren) (name, grade & allergy info). Please feel free to contact Choicelunch customer service with any question at 1-855-465-8624. Additionally, Choicelunch will offer Jamba Juice (with lunch purchase) on Wednesdays beginning in September. SCHOOL LUNCH VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED Parent volunteers are needed to help with the lunch program through the end of the school year. Are you free from 11:45am-12:45pm on a regular basis, even once or twice a week?  Let Judy Silva, jsilva@stmsf.org know when you are available. IMPORTANT AUGUST DATES Thursday, August 24 - Music Classes Begin   Monday, August 28 - Minimum Day, 12:15/12:30pm Dismissal BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AT SCHOOL As a courtesy to parents, we do allow birthday celebrations during the school day. If you wish to provide a small individual treat (no cakes) for your child's birthday, you will need to purchase a birthday book beforehand. A birthday book request must be submitted at least a week in advance through the school website. Once this has been submitted, your child's teacher will contact you to set up a mutually convenient plan. Please do not contact the teacher directly. Requests not received in time may require that your child's birthday will be celebrated on a day other than their actual birthday.
