View this email in your browser Newsletter for Wednesday, October 4, 2017 Today is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint for our beautiful city, San Francisco. But he is the patron saint of all animals great and small, as well as, the environment in which all animals live and should thrive. This must be why we had a little black squirrel come into school this morning and run up the stairs to the library! He must have thought that the Blessing of the Animals was BEFORE school and not AFTER. Luckily the staff were able to assist the squirrel in exiting the building safely.   Calendar Items AFTER SCHOOL BALLET PROGRAM - Kinder-5th grade This year we are excited to offer an after school ballet program with Ms Shan-Yee Poon, who trained at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London. She has been teaching for the past 30 years proudly providing the San Francisco Bay Area with outstanding dance instruction. Classes for kindergarten through 5th grade students will be held on Mondays, in Carroll Hall, beginning on October 16th. Please check out the flyer and registration form: A separate registration form is required for each student. Ballet registration form Ballet Flyer   Don't forget that Monday October 9th is a School Holiday - Columbus Day! School will be CLOSED.  Halloween is coming! Getting ready for Halloween! Ms. Beach's 3rd Grade class used their creativity in a recent STEAM class! Spooky fun! HALLOWEEN PARADE Our K-8 Halloween parade, will begin at 10:45 in the schoolyard on Tuesday, October 31. All are welcome to attend! When purchasing costumes for wearing to school for the parade, please consider the following:  Age appropriate Bathroom accessible Make up must be applied at home Shoes must be comfortable for walking No weapons of any kind Also remember that Tuesday, October 31 is a minimum day with a 12:15/12:30pm dismissal.   Another reminder regarding PARENT CONFERENCES: Parent conferences are set for the week of October 30.  Please remember that your accounts, both tuition and extended care, must be in good standing in order for you to receive a conference and your child's report card. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding with this policy. In the aftermath of the tragedy in Las Vegas, we lift our thoughts and prayers to those affected by this senseless act of violence.  Here is a prayer we may turn to in asking our angels for protection and guidance. Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
