View this email in your browser September 28, 2022 Hello STM Broncos! Wow! – What a week it was! Picture Day, Fun Run, Home Sports, and Bingo!  The Fun Run was absolutely amazing!  Thank you all for helping to make a wonderful memory for everyone!  It was such a fantastic event to help bring our entire community together! Thank you to the STM community for your continued support of STM Bronco sports. It was great to see so many faces for our first home games.  STM Snack Bar is back open at our home sporting events! Purchases help support our 5th and 6th grade Outdoor Education programs. Special thank you to the parents for an Awesome Bronco Bingo Night Celebration! The committee was fantastic! Thank you Christine Jordan, Viki Saba, Francis Lopez, Melissa Martin, Earley Pualengco, Jessica Jimenez and Maria Ibanez!  Great food and drinks, great people, and a great time was had by all! Talk to STM parent Francis Custudio to see what is rolling into theaters this Friday, September 30! Next week Parent Teacher Conferences will be held via zoom. Make sure to select a time that works for you on SignUp Genius by tonight.  Please contact your child's homeroom teacher if you have any questions about conferences.  Reminder - Early dismissal every day next week at 12:15 or 12:30. Tuesday, October 4, is the Feast Day of St. Francis. Students are invited to bring pictures or drawings of their pets for a special prayer and blessing at the church entrance in the morning. After school at 12:45 p.m. – students and families may bring their pets to visit the Shrine of St. Francis outside the church entrance for a blessing! Breakthrough is an amazing opportunity for students and families. Our goal is to support motivated students on the path to college by helping them develop the skills they need to be successful in an academically rigorous setting. Accepted students participate in our year-round, tuition-free, out of school-time programming until the end of middle school with ongoing workshops and support throughout high school. We provide middle school, high school, and college admissions support, and create an inclusive and collaborative community where students can thrive.   BREAKTHROUGH PROGRAM  This is an eight year commitment (grades 5-12) for students who know they want to go to college and are willing to take advantage of the great opportunities and resources Breakthrough has to offer, which include: academically intensive, skills-based summer programming the summers before 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades, comprehensive school-year programming with after-school tutoring and enrichment twice a week during the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school years,  middle and high school admissions support to enter high performing, best fit schools, test prep, college exposure through college talks and visits, admissions counseling and personal enrichment workshops during the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades Participating students must demonstrate academic motivation as well as meet our need criteria. View this email in your browser September 21, 2022 Hello STM Broncos! STM Fun Run is right around the corner! This Friday - September 23, is the big day! Thank you for all the support in getting us OVER the goal!  Well done!  This week STM Faith Families began! The 8th-grade students lead the entire school in wonderful community-building activities! Great job 8th grade! Congrats to the 5th-grade girl's volleyball team for taking 2nd place in the Flame tournament! Let's GO Broncos!  Sports update from Mr. K.:  Friday is also the Home Opener for Bronco Girls' Volleyball at the gym. The first two games will feature our third-grade girls. The Blue team plays at 5:30 p.m. and the Purple team at 6:30 p.m.  The youngest Broncos will be followed by their elders as the combined 6/7th grade team will play at 7:30 p.m. followed by the 8th Grade team at 8:30 p.m. The snack bar will be back and run by the 5th & 6th-grade parents benefitting Outdoor Ed. Come root on the Broncos! Thank you for encouraging and fostering healthy habits. Exercising, dancing, singing, going for walks, and getting fresh air are crucial for wellness for all of us.  Parents - Thank you for monitoring your child's screen time at home and setting healthy limits and guidelines. Please make sure they get enough sleep and stay hydrated! Making healthy choices now will help establish a solid foundation for the future! Students will be running and walking laps (about 30 minutes) on September 23rd and asking friends, family, and coworkers for donations over the next couple of weeks. This is going to be a blast!! Everyone including staff, students, and families is working hard to make this a huge success. Family and friends from around the globe can support our school by making a donation in support of your student.  Let's make this the most successful fundraiser ever!!
