View this email in your browser Dear Friends, The month of October each year is dedicated to the Holy Rosary because the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. Praying the rosary is a way to help us get in touch with Mary, the Mother of God, and to develop a relationship with her. We all have needs, so we can implore Mary's help and seek her motherly protection and intercession together. Use the words of Pope Francis as a model for your prayer life and that of your child. PENNY BUCKET CHALLENGE The Student Council's "Penny Bucket" is underway! Keep sending those pennies in - they will continue to be collected through October 31st! All of the pennies collected from now through the end of the month will be donated to the San Francisco Breast Cancer Emergency Fund in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our Top 10 Fun Run Fundraisers were rewarded with a sneak preview of the New Stage and Creative Arts Center! PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES  Don't forget - The Parent-Teacher Conference forms are due back by next Wednesday!! Please make sure these forms are filled out completely. Several of these forms have been returned to you as all three options were not selected. PICTURE RE-TAKES As a reminder, if you wish for your child to re-take his/her picture on our re-take day, scheduled for October 14th, please return the entire photo package to the classroom teacher by Thursday, October 13th. Families who ordered the class picture and/or digital prints will receive them after retakes have been processed. FALL FESTIVAL/HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL Our next big event is the Fall Festival/Halloween Carnival. That fun and popular event is set for Saturday, October 22nd. Everyone will be there! The Parents' Club will continue to keep you up-to-date with preparations. Your class reps will be contacting you regarding donations and activities that each grade will be responsible for. Signup Genius will be updated for volunteer hours and will be available shortly. Tickets and Bracelets are available for pre-purchase here. If you have any questions, please contact your class reps or the Parents' Club at parentsclub@stmsf.org. HALLOWEEN PARADE Our K-8 Halloween parade, will begin at 11:00 in the schoolyard on Monday, October 31st. All are welcome to attend! When purchasing costumes for wearing to school for the parade, please consider the following:  Age appropriate Bathroom accessible Make up must be applied at home Shoes must be comfortable for walking No weapons of any kind Also remember that Monday, October 31st is a minimum day with a 12:15/12:30pm dismissal. SCHOOL TOURS/APPLICATION FORMS Please continue to invite friends and relatives interested in St. Thomas More School to come to one of our school tours for prospective parents.
