Dear STM Families,

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."-The Constitution of the United States. Article II, Section 1.
Today, in Washington DC, the 46th president of the United States was sworn into office. As we are still in the throes of the pandemic, President Joe Biden's inauguration did not have the usual crowds in attendance to witness this occasion in person and many of the regular activities, such as the inaugural ball, are not being held. However, the occasion was solemn and all activities moved ahead smoothly. Of greater significance in the history of our country is the fact that Kamala Harris is sworn in as the first female vice president, as well as the first woman of color to hold this position. We congratulate them both as we pray for better things to come.

Twenty-two year old Amanda Gorman, the first National Youth Poet laureate, wowed the crowd with her amazing poem "The Hill We Climb"  that calls for unity and healing. It concluded:

"For there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it.
If only we're brave enough to be it."

MASS AT ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH

All scheduled indoor masses continue to be cancelled during this pandemic. However, Fr. Marvin and St. Thomas More Church continue to follow the regularly offered daily mass schedule. All masses are live streamed through Facebook. Students will attend the weekly Friday mass at 8:30am.
