Outdoor Masking Update 02/15/2022

View this email in your browser Tuesday, February 15, 2022   Dear STM Families: As we near the two year mark since we first closed our schools at the beginning of the pandemic, we see some light at the end of the tunnel. Guidelines from the city and state have  evolved many times over this period as we learn more about the science behind the numbers and more data becomes available. The good news is that Covid cases are declining in the Bay Area and beyond.  With that in mind, St. Thomas More School will be lifting mask mandates for students during recess and lunch time beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 16, 2022. This will be optional as some students may prefer to continue masking at this time. Here are some guidelines regarding masking changes: All students will continue masking before arriving on the school campus. Masks must continue to be worn inside at all times. Masks may be removed by students when in the yard for recess and lunchtime. Masks must be worn at dismissal until students leave the school campus.  To avoid students losing masks while outside, please teach them to fold masks in two and to place the straps over their arm/elbow while playing or eating.  Please see the attached letter from Superintendent Pam Lyons regarding the upcoming changes.      Letter from the Superintendent of Schools - Outdoor Mask Update 2/15/2022 English | Spanish   Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we deal with the ever changing safety and health guidelines.
