Fun filled games and activities for Mothers and Son(s) to participate in. Raffle prize(s), games, other activities etc. Location: Games/Activites will be held in the GYM and/or outside if weather permits. Food will be served in Carroll Hall. Parents, sign up to supervise lunch and recess for parent hours and engage in our community! This sign up is for the months of November and December only. There will be other sign ups later in the year. Sign up here! STM Volunteer Guidelines -Please make sure that you are monitoring all the children in your area or zones and not just your own child/children. - No pictures of the students are permitted during recess or lunch duty.
-No outside kids/siblings while parent is on yard duty. -All phones are to be put away and only used in case of an emergency. -Kindly encourage the students to clean up after themselves and their community. - Please talk with the faculty member on duty if you have any questions. -Each day is 1.5 hours for parent hours. Please only sign up for a maximum of 4 days. This way we have more opportunities for more parents.
In order to do yard duty, parents must finish the Virtus training and be fingerprinted. STM Robotics teams are forming for the First Lego League (FLL) events this year.
The theme is "Masterpiece" and should be fun for students that love STEAM: STEM plus Art and Performance! STM participates in FLL Challenge program for Grades 5-8 and FLL Explore for Grades 1-4 Sign up by October 11. (Add link). Fee $200 billed to FACTS.
We still need coaches!
We will set the schedule and teams based on finding coaches! FLL requires two coaches per team of 6-8 students. Note that we cannot form teams without coaches, but no experience is required, and coaching robotics is a blast! All materials provided with team fee. Teams complete exciting challenges with Lego and coding and attend NorCal events starting in January.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month
Bullying is when someone aggressively uses their "power" to target another individual with repeated, unwanted words or actions, both in person and/or online. Those targeted are hurt physically or emotionally and have a hard time stopping what is happening to them
National Bullying Prevention Month is an opportunity to: -
Encourage the nation to take action at the local level to create safe and supportive schools -
Offer information and education about how everyone can prevent bullying -
Provide a platform to hold school and community events -
Share information about the issue through news media, social media, videos, and print publications -
Speak with education and public policy leaders about their roles in bullying prevention -
Promote dialogue between educators, parents, and students on their roles in addressing and preventing bullying -
Invite organizations to share information about their bullying prevention resources -
Inspire everyone to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion -
