Hello STM Broncos!

Wow – hard to believe it is October already!  Halloween is only a few weeks away and the students are very excited for the festivities!

As fall is upon us, please help your children stay hydrated and get as much fresh air in and out of the house as possible.  Please make sure to support with healthy food and proper amounts of sleep so we can all keep our community healthy.

Thank you to everyone for supporting the Missionary Childhood Association.  Our students raised $522.00! Great job STM!

Special thanks to 8th grade and Mrs. Cabe-Reyes for making 150 sandwiches to support Martin de Porres House of Hospitality. Martin's is a free restaurant which serves lunch from 12-2, Mondays – Saturdays.  Their mission is to serve in the spirit of compassion, understanding and love.  All are welcome.  Thank you to our neighbors - Alma Via for supporting with the supplies and Mr. Elidio Reyes for delivering the sandwiches for us.  We are excited to bring this outreach effort back to our school!

Great job 8th grade!

Thank you to everyone for taking time to meet for parent teacher conferences this week.  Parents and Guardians – you are the primary educators, and we are so honored to be partnering with you on your educational journey.  If there are follow up questions or if a schedule change is needed, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month.  Every child deserves to be safe.  Together, we can create a world without bullying. Parents and Guardians - Click this link to see how you can help.  Please see the information boxes below from STM's Wellness and Counseling Department – Notes from Counselor Jennifer Corry.

Special thanks to Reverend Richard Van De Water for the Feast of St. Francis – Blessing of the Animals/Pets.  It is wonderful to have an opportunity for blessing and showing appreciation and love for all the animals.

Bronco Merch

STM Robotics for 2023-24 School Year
🤖

STM Robotics teams are forming for the First Lego League (FLL) events this year.
The theme is "Masterpiece" and should be fun for students that love STEAM: STEM plus Art and Performance! STM participates in FLL Challenge program for Grades 5-8 and FLL Explore for Grades 1-4 Sign up by October 11. (Add link). Fee $200 billed to FACTS.

We still need coaches!
We will set the schedule and teams based on finding coaches! FLL requires two coaches per team of 6-8 students. Note that we cannot form teams without coaches, but no experience is required, and coaching robotics is a blast! All materials provided with team fee. Teams complete exciting challenges with Lego and coding and attend NorCal events starting in January.

If you want to find out more, please email Maura Clancy at

Notes from Counselor Jennifer Corry:

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

Bullying is when someone aggressively uses their "power" to target another individual with repeated, unwanted words or actions, both in person and/or online. Those targeted are hurt  physically or emotionally  and have a hard time stopping what is happening to them

National Bullying Prevention Month is an opportunity to:

  • Encourage the nation to take action at the local level to create safe and supportive schools

  • Offer information and education about how everyone can prevent bullying

  • Provide a platform to hold school and community events

  • Share information about the issue through news media, social media, videos, and print publications

  • Speak with education and public policy leaders about their roles in bullying prevention

  • Promote dialogue between educators, parents, and students on their roles in addressing and preventing bullying

  • Invite organizations to share information about their bullying prevention resources

  • Inspire everyone to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion

  • Help create a world without bullying

For more information or any further support, please feel free to  contact our Counselor Ms. Corry at jcorry@stthomasmoreschool.org and/or click on the links below.
