Dear Parents:
Our second graders will receive their First Holy Communion this Saturday, May 13 at 10:00am in the church. Eucharist is a celebration of what Jesus did at the Last Supper. The word Eucharist means "to give thanks". When we celebrate this sacrament, we thank God for His many gifts and blessings. All are welcome to join us. Please keep the second graders in your prayers as they prepare for this special day.
Last Friday evening, Bishop Walsh administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to our seventh grade students. We congratulate them on their further initiation into the Catholic Church: Isabella Brenes, Amaelia Bringas, Christian Bustos, Dominique Cabading, Caitlin Conroy, Bella Dimacali, Marcellus Edwards, Riley Hines, Jazmine Jung, Jack Kavanagh, Matthew Lim, Christopher Malbas, Daniel Massarweh, Ariana Montiel, Ethan Nguyen, Nicoli Panelo, Elizabeth Pinkham, Aidan Ragasa, Keith Reyes, Tyler Reyes, Diego Ruiz, Alejandro Salise, Greyson Salomon, Samantha Santiago, Brian Schiefer, Luke Silva, Dierisch Silva-Castro, Daniel Solorzano, Noah Tango, Michael Titus, GianCarlo Toledo, Jacob Umanzor, and Santino Woo. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit continue to work in their lives. Thank you to seventh grade teacher, John Kavanagh for preparing such a prayerful and meaningful ceremony and to our fabulous student choir, led by Shelley White. A special thank you also to the sixth grade families for their help with the confirmation reception.
Catholic Schools in collaboration with parents and guardians as the primary educators, seek to educate the whole child by providing an excellent education rooted in Gospel values. To that end we ask again that you take the
Catholic Identity Program Effectiveness Parent Survey. Thank you to the 24 families that have previously completed the survey. If you have not had the chance to complete this survey, please do so by the extended deadline of Friday, May 12. It is important that we receive more responses in order to help us grow in our Catholic Faith. Your input is valuable.
SANDWICHES FOR THE NEEDY Our next sandwiches-for-the-needy collection is this Friday, May 12 with the 7th and 3rd graders taking the lead. We encourage all of you to consider making an extra sandwich and/or lunch and sending it to the office on that day.
OUTDOOR ED It is a little less noisy in the homes of fifth and sixth graders as well as here at school. The fifth and sixth graders' are away on their
Outdoor Education Program. They will be back on Friday, near dismissal time, tired, dirty but full of stories of the fun and education they experienced.
