View this email in your browser Dear Parents,   Tomorrow is the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. According to Scripture, Christ was crucified then resurrected on the third day. Following his resurrection, Christ remained with his disciples and continued his ministry for forty days. Following these forty days, he ascended into heaven. The feast of the Ascension's meaning provides a sense of hope that the glorious and triumphant return of Christ is near. It is a reminder of the Kingdom of God within our hearts, and of the ever-present Spirit of God, watching over and protecting us as we spread the light of Jesus' truth throughout the world. In the Catholic tradition, the month of May is dedicated to Mary. A May crowing ceremony is a great way to recognize Mary as the Queen of Heaven and Earth!  It's traditional to have a May crowning on May 1 (also known as May Day) but you can do it any time during May. Please join us at morning assembly tomorrow, May 10, when Student Council will present the crowning of a statue of Mary. USED UNIFORM SALE We have cleaned out our closets and found an abundant amount of used uniforms. This Friday, before and after school, we will be selling these uniforms in a "$10 for all you can fit in a bag" sale. Come and stock up for the next school year. TAYLOR SWIFT TICKETS - RAFFLE Thanks to the Cabrera Family (Roman, 1st and Dawson, K) we have 10 sets (2) of Taylor Swift concert tickets to raffle off for this Friday night's show. Raffle tickets are included in today's envelope. All entries must be received by 2:30pm tomorrow, Thursday, May 10. Good Luck! "FUN"OMENAL FIELD DAY - MONDAY, MAY 14 All TK-8 grade students will enjoy outdoor activities and games presented by Rhythm and Moves and the STM Student Council. Students should wear a top in their class color (left), comfortable shoes and clothes that they can run in. Please remember to follow all free dress rules as written in the school handbook. Continuing the fun in the afternoon, Student Council will provide free hot dog lunches (including drinks and chips) as well as more outdoor activities. They will be receiving their prizes in their envelopes today. YEARBOOK This year's Yearbook is here! All students PK-8th grade are included in this wonderful keepsake book. As always we expect a sellout again this year. Use the order form you received last week to place your order. Yearbooks will be distributed next week. Happy Mother's Day!
