The feasts of saints are traditionally celebrated on the day of their death, because that is the date on which they entered into eternal life. There are only three people whose birthdays have traditionally been celebrated by Christians, Jesus Christ, at Christmas; Saint John the Baptist; and the Blessed Virgin Mary, as they were all born without Original Sin.
The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the day on which we commemorate the birth of Mary, the Mother of God, was celebrated as early as the sixth century. The traditional date of the feast, September 8, falls exactly nine months after the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. We celebrate this very important feast day, because it prepares the way for the birth of Christ. | |  | | We hope to see everyone this Sunday, September 8, for one of the most important celebrations of the school year. This also allows our families and other interested parties to refer to our website to find out the relevant and accurate information in real time. | |  | CONFERENCE ONLINE SIGN-UP This year we have decided to use Sign Up Genius to aid in scheduling parent conferences. These sign ups are protected by an access code. When prompted, enter the code you received from Sign Up Genius for access (a separate email sent directly from Sign Up Genius).The sign up closes on Monday, September 16 at 3pm PST. If you do not choose a time slot by this deadline, one will be assigned to you. Conferences are set for the week of September 30. As per the financial policies, all TK-8 grade families are required to participate in the Fun Run. Each family is to raise a minimum of $100 per child enrolled in the school. All pledge forms are due back to the classroom teachers by Monday, September 16. Extra forms are available from the office. Pledges can also be made online! TK-8 grade families who do not wish to participate in this fundraiser or who do not meet the minimum, will be charged (via FACTS) the $150 per child opt-out fee by the cutoff deadline of October 9, 2019. | | SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM How to Register: Visit www.choicelunch.com to create a new account and register your child(ren) (name, grade & allergy info).
