View this email in your browser September 15, 2021 Dear STM Families,  Below are the updates for this week: Calendar School Emergency Messaging System FUN RUN STM Robotics Team Latin Percussion Registration Halloween Spooktacular CALENDAR Thursday, Sep 16 SI visits Grades 7-8 at 11:30 am Friday, Sep 17 Last Day of STAR Testing Green Infrastructure Workshop for Grades 3-8 Friday, Sep 24 FUN RUN Monday, Sep 27 Minimum Day - 12:15/12:30 dismissal Emergency Messaging System To update our emergency messaging system, STM parents and guardians will receive a text message from the school office via Remind.com on Friday, September 17, 2021. We will only use this emergency messaging system to alert you to class or school closures and emergency situations.   To enroll in our emergency messaging system, please reply YES when you see this message. If you do not receive this text message by Friday evening, you may also sign up by visiting our school website to sign up.  LINK: https://www.stthomasmoreschool.org/emergency-messaging-system-sign-up.html Tips: You will receive one message per child attending STM. FUN RUN Friday, September 24, 2021 We are more than halfway to our goal! Goal: $60,000 Currently: $35,000+ Those who have earned prizes will be receiving them this Friday. For the safety of our students and staff, parents or volunteers will not be allowed in the schoolyard during the Fun Run this year.  LINK: https://stm21.pledge-drive.net/Campaign/Details/2022?code=894E STM ROBOTICS TEAM FLL Freight Frenzy! Our award-winning STM robotics team is looking for a few, good coaches! All parents, high school/college age siblings, and adult mentors are eligible (STM parents can earn their parent volunteer hours). An engineering or computer science background is a plus but not required. First Lego League Teams (grades 5-8) compete in the Fall, with a tournament in November. Jr First Lego League Teams (grades 1-4) compete this Winter/Spring with an exposition in early Spring. This year's challenge theme is "Freight Frenzy."
