View this email in your browser August 10, 2022 Dear STM Families,  Hello Broncos!!! - Welcome back to school! I hope you all have had a wonderful and safe summer break! School starts next week. I am so excited to meet every single one of you and get the school year going! It was a busy summer! We've been working hard all summer getting to know the community and getting the school ready for you! The floors are waxed, the school is power washed, the windows are glistening and the classrooms are all looking great! All we are missing now is our students! We also hosted our first official alumni reunion! Check out the photos! Special thanks to the classes of '86 and '87 for coming back to campus and sharing their stories of what STM means to them. It was so inspirational and uplifting! We are so appreciative of their generous donations to our school which will help with our new performing arts programming. It's going to be awesome! Peace, love, happiness and harmony.  David Greenbaum (Mr. G), Principal CALENDAR 2022-2023 School Calendar Wednesday, August 17  Utopia Preschool First Day Thursday, August 18 First Day of School: TK-8 begins at 8:10 am Minimum Day - TK-3 Dismissal at 12:15 pm - Grades 4-8 Dismissal at 12:30 pm No morning and afternoon extended care Friday, August 19 Minimum Day - TK-3 Dismissal at 12:15 pm - Grades 4-8 Dismissal at 12:30 pm Monday, August 22 Minimum Day 12:15/12:30 dismissal Teacher In-Service Wednesday, August 24 Back to School Night 6 pm STM Gym SCHOOL SCHEDULE MORNING DROP-OFF 7:45-8:10 am: All TK-8 students  8:10 am: Morning assembly in the schoolyard AFTERNOON DISMISSAL    TK-3 Grades 4-8 Monday-Thursday  2:45 pm 3:00 pm  Friday 2:15 pm 2:30 pm  Minimum Day 12:15 pm 12:30 pm MORNING DROP-OFF Before you leave for school, please do a quick health check with your child at home. Please keep children at home if they are ill or showing any symptoms that may be related to COVID-19.  MORNING DROP-OFF The schoolyard gate will open at 7:45 am.  TK-8 students may be dropped off between 7:45-8:10 am in the morning.  Please drop students off in the white zone. Pull forward.   Drivers and family members, please stay in your vehicle.  For our younger students, please practice exiting the vehicle. STM staff members will be on traffic duty to supervise and help with morning drop-off.  If you must exit your vehicle, please find a parking space across the church or in the neighborhood and walk your child to school.  NO U-TURNS Please do not gather in front of the gate.     RETURN OF MORNING ASSEMBLY Students will stay in the schoolyard for morning assembly. Parents, family members, and other adults are not allowed in the schoolyard as we continue to limit visitors to our campus. TARDY STUDENTS Students arriving after morning assembly will enter through the front office doors for check-in and receive a tardy pass to give to their teacher. First day of school for TK-8 is Thursday, August 18, 2022 and is a minimum day.  TK-8 School Calendar TK-8 Supply List Grades 3-8 Summer Reading HOT LUNCH REGISTRATION STM has a new hot lunch vendor, SchoolFoodies, for the 2022-2023 school year. Please refer to the registration Information below for more information on how to set up your child's hot lunch account.  LINK: SchoolFoodies Registration Information AT-HOME COVID TESTING RECOMMENDED BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL STM families may pick up a free antigen COVID home test kit from the school office prior to the first day of school.  Dates: Monday, August 15-Wednesday, August 17, 2022  Office Hours: 8:00 am-3:00 pm CDPH recommends that students and staff get tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to school following major breaks (e.g., summer, winter, spring). We strongly recommend testing your child on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, or the day before their first day of school. No need to report negative results to the school.  To report positive results, email health@stmsf.org. Please keep your child at home if they are sick or exhibit symptoms.  Feel free to email us at health@stmsf.org if you have any questions.  For more information, please refer to the resources below: COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for K–12 Schools to Support Safe In-Person Learning, 2022–2023 School Year https://sf.gov/schools-childcare-and-youth-programs-during-covid-19-pandemic MASKS OPTIONAL According to the California Department of Public Health, masks are currently optional indoors and outdoors for our students and staff. Students are always welcome to wear masks in school. Masks are available in classrooms and the front office.  Below is CDPH's mask recommendation.   "Masks, particularly high-quality and well-fitting masks (PDF), remain highly effective, inexpensive, and dynamic tools to protect oneself and mitigate transmission of COVID-19 and other respiratory pathogens."
