STM Newsletter for October 23, 2019

Dear Parents,

In 1931, Jesus appeared to Faustina Kowalska as the King of Mercy. Clothed in a white robe and emanating two large rays from his side, one white and one red, he asked Faustina to paint an image of Himself along with the phrase "Jesus, I trust in You," and to spread the message of mercy around the world. He promised that anyone who venerated this image would not perish. The gripping new docudrama Love and Mercy presents unknown facts and recently disclosed documents that shed new light on the vision of Faustina.
The film debuts for one night only, October 28, at approximately 700 theaters across the United States. Use this link to locate a theater; there are several showings across the Bay Area. For a review of the movie in Chicago Catholic, click here.

Mercy High School is excited to host a screening of LIKE, a film about social media's impact on our lives and the effects of technology on the brain. Social media is very much a part of teen life and social platforms are a place to connect and care... but is that what's really happening? Following the film, Laura McGourty, a licensed clinical counselor, will facilitate discussion and share her first hand knowledge and field-tested strategies with parents, teachers and all adults working with young people. 7th and 8th grade students and their parents are welcome to attend.

See you Saturday at the Fall Festival for some Spooktacular fun!

Sincerely,

Marie Fitzpatrick
Principal
