Dear Parents,
On behalf of the staff and myself I want to thank you for all the support and good wishes you have sent our way in the past few days. They are very much appreciated. A nice note or a drawing from a student or parent is just what we need to brighten our day.
I would also like to take this opportunity to let the teachers and staff know how very grateful I am for their dedication to our students and families during this time. Their efforts to bring the classroom to life at home has been both challenging and rewarding. They continue to inspire a lifelong love of learning and discovery and are truly making a difference in the well-being and long-term success of their students. While they would much rather be in the classroom with their students, they adapted quickly to the new reality, and continued to engage with their class in a variety of new ways.
Now that we have arrived at the last four weeks of the 2019-2020 school year we need to put plans in place for winding down the year, even if we are doing much of it in a very different way. When we closed school on March 11th, we left our classrooms with a plan to return on March 25th. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Students need to return to their classroom to pick up the remainder of their supplies from their desks and to return any textbooks, library books and other items that they have that belong to the school. Wednesday, May 27th, is the day we have set aside to do this. We will share a detailed plan with you on May 20th of the procedures we have put in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, parents and staff. There will be specific times allotted for each family to be on campus.
