We hope everyone is doing well during this time. These past two weeks we hosted our first Esports NBA 2K Tournament and it was a success! We would like to continue to engage your students by hosting a FIFA 20 tournament the next upcoming weeks. Again, all your students are welcome to register whether they participated in CYO sports or not. Please see below for more information. Game: FIFA 20 – A popular online soccer video game. Platforms: PS4 or Xbox Registration Fee: FREE Registration Deadline: Tuesday, May 26th Tournament Start Date: Monday, June 1st – Depending on the number of registrations, we will determine the length of the tournament. Time Slots: 5pm to 10pm Format/Duration: 1v1 with 6 minute halves – see our rules below for more information. 1st Place Prize: Choice of Indoor/Outdoor Basketball, Adidas Hoodie, or Adidas Shoes (hoodie and shoes are limited to sizes that CYO have in stock) Please have parents register their children if they are interested in participating. We will be using our new website on Team Sideline for the registration process. ------------------------------------------------------------------ FIFA 20 Tournament Rules Format: Round Robin -> Brackets - Single Elimination *ONE GAMERTAG PER PARTICIPANT* Games will be streamed on YouTube – the "Home" team will be the streamer. If there is a protest, the game can be reviewed via the YouTube stream. "Home" team must report the final score to CYO for the results to be entered, along with the link to the YouTube stream. "Away" team must also report the score with a picture of the score attached to the email. Games will be played every other day. Teams use the extra day in between to schedule their game with their opponent. Game must be scheduled by 5PM the day of the game. If your opponent does not respond by 5PM the day of the game, send a picture of your attempts to contact them to the CYO Athletics email to report your opponent's forfeit. Games to be completed between 5PM-10PM on the game days. You must play your opponent through the Online Friendlies Mode, NOT FIFA Ultimate Team. To do this go to Online -> Online Friendlies Game settings should be: § Game mode: Friendly season / Kickoff § Classic match § Ties at the end of regulation will be decided by Golden Goal followed by Penalty Kicks if nobody scores. § Team size: 1v1, head-to-head matchup § Difficulty: Professional § Match length: 6-minute halves § Everything else: Default § Game speed: Normal Participants cannot use customized rosters or International teams. Must use Club teams, star level does not have to match. Players can use the same team. If a game disconnects in the first half, the game will simply restart. If it disconnects in the second half the players will take note of what the score was at the end of the first half then start a new game and play the one remaining half and add their scores. Reminder, only a total of 2 halves should be played. Each player may pause the game up to three times. Players can only pause the game when the ball is out of play or they have clear possession. SPORTSMANSHIP is still enforced during this tournament even if it's online. During the last tournament, we've had a few unsportsmanlike incidents where students talked badly about each other on the game chats. Please practice good sportsmanship in order to prevent any consequences where you could be taken out of the tournament. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you, Tabia Ye SF CYO Athletics Coordinator |
