I would like to take this opportunity to check in with you as we reach the end of our first day of distance learning. Please know that this has taken a tremendous amount of work on the part of the teachers as they try and support your child learning at home. They will continue to be available to answer your, or your child's questions on a daily basis.
However, we totally understand that distance learning may be extremely challenging for some families. Working parents often need to depend on babysitters or elderly parents to care for children. These caregivers may not be able to assist with assignments or use the technology needed. This can be especially challenging for students in the primary grades.
Please know that the teachers will help you on a case by case basis to accommodate your work schedule and the limited amount of time that you may have to supervise and turn in schoolwork.
This is a steep learning curve for all of us but together we will continue to adapt to this quickly changing situation and ensure stability for all our children
