This afternoon six Bay Area counties, including San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin, announced a shelter-in-place order effective at midnight tonight and extending through April 7. With this new information it is likely that our schools will continue to remain closed beyond the March 25th date originally provided. The Department of Catholic Schools is hoping to have a decision for us tomorrow on what these new regulations will mean for our schools.

Meanwhile, STM will continue regular virtual meetings with our staff and teachers. Teachers will continue to receive professional development in the area of distance learning and have opportunities to share great teaching ideas as well as the challenges provided by distance learning. Teachers will continue to provide resources for your child's learning.
During this time, it is important, when possible, to maintain a fairly regular schedule for the children.
Continue to get up at a regular time each day.
Follow the daily schedule provided by the teacher, taking breaks for snacks, recess and lunch.
Until 3pm daily, do not allow any games or online activities that would not be allowed as part of a regular school day.
Exercise regularly, even if confined to the house.
For the families of our healthcare workers and other first responders, please know that you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. We understand that you may face difficulties in following the provided schedules for distance learning. Be assured, that our teachers are more than willing to make adjustments and recommendations to fit your situation. Please let us know how we can help.
Hopefully, I will have further updates by this time tomorrow evening.
